Most LED wall rentals look the same on a quote: a price per day and a panel count. The difference between a show that goes perfectly and one that falls apart at load-in is everything the quote does not show you. Before you book an LED wall in NYC, here are nine questions that separate a real production partner from a box-mover.
1. Do you own the gear, or sub-rent it?
Companies that own their panels know their exact condition, keep matched batches so colors match across the wall, and are not at the mercy of someone else's inventory. Sub-rented gear can show up mismatched or short.
2. Is a crew included, or am I on my own?
An LED wall is not plug-and-play. Ask whether rigging, setup, an on-site technician, and strike are included, or whether you are renting bare panels and finding labor yourself.
3. What processing and spares come with it?
Image quality lives in the processor, not just the panels. And on a live event, spare panels and power and data redundancy are the difference between a quick swap and a dark wall in front of your audience. A serious partner brings spares.
4. Can you handle the content, or just the hardware?
Most rental houses hand you a wall and walk away. If your content is the wrong resolution or aspect ratio, it looks stretched and soft. We build content in house, matched to the wall's exact pixel dimensions — ask whether your vendor can do the same.
5. Do you carry insurance and provide a COI?
Nearly every NYC venue requires a Certificate of Insurance before load-in. An established vendor produces one without drama. If a COI is a surprise to them, that is a red flag.
6. Have you worked union and NYC venues before?

7. Will you give me real specs?
You should get exact pixel pitch, panel dimensions, brightness, and total resolution — not just "a big screen." If a vendor cannot tell you the pitch, they cannot tell you how it will look up close.
8. Is your pricing transparent?

9. Are you actually local?
